As part of your daily employment you may be required to go to court or a tribunal. Being well prepared makes all the difference. The course looks at your role from the perspective of the witness box. The course looks at the whole process including:- By ensuring that you understand the process, it is much easier to be prepared. Giving evidence makes nearly everyone nervous and anxious - it can feel like you are the one on trial. This course has very practical elements to it. It starts with the basic building blocks of when to stand and when to sit, how to address the judge or magistrates and even looks at the roles of everyone else in court with you. It considers what to be mindful when giving a statement and what paperwork will help you. Much of the afternoon is spent dealing with the issue of actually giving live evidence in court. Both the dos and the don’ts are fully covered and there is a real opportunity to ask questions and apply the theory to your own experiences. It is a full day, but a good day.
